History of creation and development of the collection
Scientific Journal of Odesa National Maritime University was first published in September 1998. (Prior to that, the institution was known as the Odesa Institute of Marine Engineers until 1998, and as the Odesa State Maritime University until 2002.)
The journal is officially registered under Certificate KB №2783 dated July 25, 1997, and was re-registered in 2011 under Certificate KB №17536-6286P dated February 11, 2011.
This is a specialized Ukrainian scientific publication where the results of research for the degree of Doctor of Science and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) may be published.
The journal was founded by Professor Yuriy L. Vorobyov, a prominent scientist in the field of ship hydrodynamics, who served as Rector of OIME–OSMU–ONMU from 1989 to 2003.
The Scientific Journal of ONMU is intended for professionals researching scientific problems in the field of water transport, as well as related industries.
