Bureau Reports at the Conference "Up-to-date Technologies of Design, Construction, Operation and Repairing of Vessels, Marine Technics and Engineering
From 20th till 22nd of May, 2015 the international scientific and technical conference "Up-to-date Technologies of Design, Construction, Operation and Repairing of Vessels, Marine Technics and Engineering Facilities" was held in admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding (former Nikolaev Shipbuilding Institute) in Nikolaev.
Totally 84 reports have been made.
During the plenary meeting general director of Marine Engineering Bureau, Prof., Dr. Sc., Gennadiy V. Egorov and Bureau's junior scientific researcher Alexander G. Egorov introduced report "Concepts of today small-draught river tug-barge trains for Lena River basin and other Siberian regions".
It was proved actuality of constructing small-draught composite vessels (such as dry cargo vessel + pusher and attached barge, tanker + pusher and attached barge). The analysis of existing vessels of eastern basins was carried out. It were introduced today composite vessels' concepts RT63+ROB21, RD63+RDB21, RT63A+ROB21A.
The most up-to-date tug-barge trains owned by Lena United River Shipping Company consists of TO-1400 tanker and มอ-2000 barge; she has cargo capacity at draught 2.35 m by 1055 t less than introduced new concepts.
Marine Engineering Bureau actively participates in the Conference workout; ten reports were submitted to shipbuilding society (including one at plenary meeting) concerning most actual scientific and practical problems of native shipbuilding and shipping.
1. Modeling of working process for river-sea composite vessels (A.G. Egorov is an author).
Existing and perspective (the "rotator" scheme) operational models for river-sea composite vessels are introduced. Method of an approximate estimation of cargo transportability, that considerate specific definition of round voyage duration is described.
2. Design and operation experience of 005RSD03 dry cargo vessels of "Kareliya" type with Dw 5500 t (G.V. Egorov and V.I. Tonyuk are authors).
12-vessels 005RSD03 series was constructed at Onega Shipyard (Petrozavodsk) in 2005-2010.
Vessels are actively and successfully operated in the Caspian Sea by Russian, Azerbaijan and Kazakh shipping companies (practically all the series is working now in the Caspian Sea).
3. Consideration of internal waterway's characteristics for accepting main particulars of tug-barge trains and composite vessels and also for some characteristics of tug-barge trains that are set at initial design step (A.G. Egorov is an author).
Besides way condition analysis, tug-barge train's characteristics for passing river turn with current accounting are an important and essential parameters for defining maximal available dimensions of tug-barge train. For Dnepr River, the maximal dimensions of "Dnepr Max" type are defined eventually by lock's dimensions, other way conditions have more "soft" restrictions.
Moreover, there are some indirect factors, which will influence onto future operation of the tug-barge train and consequently should be accounted at the design and work modeling stages.
4. Creation of today RSD49 river-sea dry cargo vessels of "Neva-Leader" type (G.V. Egorov and V.I. Tonyuk are authors).
Now the RSD49 vessel construction of is carried out at LLE "Nevsky Shipyard" at Shlisselburg. 3 vessels are under construction (one of them is launched), and 9 other ones, including 2 vessels constructed at the Astrakhan shipyard "Lotos" already are successfully operated. In the report the way of creation of the RSD49 project is introduced, including accepting the propulsive complex.
5. Definition of weight loadings of non-self-propelled river and river-sea dry-cargo vessels on initial design stage (A.G. Egorov is an author).
There were defined correlations for definition of weight loadings of non-self-propelled river and river-sea dry-cargo vessels on initial design stage. It's recommended to use them at the stages of technical-economic justification or technical draft proposal.
6. Experience of new generation salvage vessels operation type (G.V. Egorov is an author).
Marine Engineering Bureau designed projects of marine salvage vessels which, from the one side have high ice qualities, and from the other side have nice still water running ability and nice seakeeping.
The constructed vessels are used very actively: from 2010 vessels took part in International Search and Rescue Exercises, Oil Spill Localization and Combat Exercises, real salvage operations, towage of hard objects, providing safety of drilling rigs and oil platforms.
Successful development of projects for new salvage vessels showed efficiency of combination of theoretical researches, modern numerical modeling methods and more traditional model tests in towing tanks and in wind tunnels for creation essentially new concepts of special purpose vessels.
Successful usage experience of constructed new generation salvage vessels is a worthy illustration of this thesis.
7. Concepts of today railway cargo-passenger ferryboats for the Caspian Sea (G.V. Egorov and I.A. Ilnitskiy are authors).
Marine Engineering Bureau designed up-to-date projects of railway cargo-passenger ferryboats for the Caspian Sea for transportation of railway wagons and Ro-Ro cargoes, with "Ice 2" class. The ferryboats are intended for whole-year work at Caspian Sea without ice conveyance; CNF18A one is able to transport dangerous cargoes, CNF18B one is able to transport passengers.
8. New concept of RST54 combined platform tanker of Volgo-Don Max type (G.V. Egorov, V.I. Tonyuk and I.N.Boyko are authors).
Usage of RST54 combined vessels provides both directions cargo transportation (oil cargoes towards one direction and dry cargoes towards back direction); that should allow decrease highways rate due to re-forwarding some cargoes from road to water transportation. Such re-forwarded cargoes include passenger cars, that usually are brought from St.-Petersburg to central Russia by car transportation trucks and heavy containers that are prohibited for car trains transportation due to unallowable road loads.
On 22.10.14 the first RST54 combined river-sea platform tanker "Balt Flot 1" (Volgo-Don Max. type) with record river deadweight 5745 t (3.60 m draught) was accepted for operation. Keels for 6 vessels of this project were already laid down; 3 vessels are accepted for operation, the fourth launched one is under floating completing.
9. Usage of analytical method of geometrical characteristics definition for damaged river or river-sea vessels (V.A. Nilva is an author).
Analytical method of residual strength estimate for damaged river or river-sea vessel is introduced. Difference between analytical results and software complex "ElBrus" results makes less than 1%, so ability of analytical method usage is proved.
