Product-tanker "Kazan" was put into operation
On July 9, 2006 at "Pendik" shipyard (Tuzla, Turkey) unlimited sailing region product-tanker "Kazan" with deadweight of 4320 tons was put into operation. The vessel was fitted-out and modernized by MEB ST19 project.
Tanker is assigned for carrying out transportation of crude oil and petroleum products, without flash point limitation, with simultaneous of three kinds of cargo transportation.
Vessel's hull was bought at Zelenodolsk shipyard named for A.M.Gorkiy (initial project is of 16510T). The hull was incomplete and was fitted-out in Turkey with class notation and general arrangement changing. In 2004, during fitting-out, the height of double-bottom was increased up to level, regulated by MARPOL 73/78.
Change from I limited sailing region to unlimited sailing region was provided due to increasing of hull strength standard.
Value of gross tonnage was decreased to shorten the port charges by removing of vessel's part of superstructure which is odd for crew number accepted by shipowner.
Cargo system was changed, three rotary cargo diesel-pumps were mounted, electrical part and systems of automation were re-designed, all up-to-date international requirements were taken into consideration.
After ST19 project fitting-out "Kazan" motorship has following characteristics:
- Maritime Register of Shipping class is of KM LU2 A3 oil tanker (ESP).
- length overall is of 115.00 m;
- breadth is of 16.20 m;
- depth is of 6.10 m;
- deadweight is of 4320 tons with the draught of 4.16 m;
- ten cargo tanks and 2 slop-tanks with capacity of 4200 cubic m;
- Cruising speed with main engine capacity of 2040 kWt is of 11.5 knots;
- Crew consists of 13 people.
Vessel's keel was laid down on 25.03.1994. She was launched on 24.10.2004. Vessel was put into operation on 09.07.2006.
