The keel of RST05 tanker was laid down at "Don-Kassens Shipyard" in Aksay

On April 28, 2011 section of the head tanker with deadweight of 3955/2868 tons in sea/river of RST05 project was laid down at "Don-Kassens" Shipyard (Victor Panteleev is a general director) in Aksay.
"Don-Kassens Shipyard" is a joint enterprise founded in 1995 by JSC "Volga-Don Shipping Company" and "Shipyard and engineering plant Kassens GmbH" (Germany) initiative. These companies are the founders of "Don-Kassens" Shipyard that is located on the left bank of Aksay river (Don feeder). German firm "Tillmann" (Johannes Tillmann GmbH&Co.KG) joined to the founders in March 2002.
"AzovTransTerminal" Co. Ltd (Sergey Alekseev is a director) is a customer of series consisting of two river-sea going tankers.
Tankers are being built for "Donbunker" Co. Ltd (Constantin Kol'ko is a general director).
Project RST05 is designed by Marine Engineering Bureau.
Vessel of RST05 prj. is being built for Russian River Register (RRR) class notation of M-SP 3.5A.
The supervision is carried out by Don-Kuban branch of RRR (Yuriy Sklyarenko is a head of branch).
Vessel of RST05 prj. is assigned for river-sea and sea transportation of crude oil and oil products, including benzine, without flash point restrictions. Simultaneous transportation of 2 cargo sorts is provided.
There are following characteristic features of RST05 prj. vessels: longitudinal bulkhead in CL, cargo pumps' room, full absence of a framing in cargo tanks, developed trunk.
Vessels satisfy the dimensions of the Volga-Don canal and Volga-Baltic way. Overall RST05 prj. vessel length is of 118.87 m, breadth is of 13.0 m, depth is of 5.8 m.
Total capacity of eight cargo tanks and two slop ones is of 4427 cub. m, deadweight is about 3955 tons when sea draught is of 4.3 m. Deadweight is about 2868 tons when river draught is of 3.60 m. Cruising speed is of 10.0 knots.
Two medium-speed diesels (main engine) of 567 kWt each use diesel fuel MDO with flash point more than 60 degrees.
Autonomy is of 12 days.
Crew consists of 14 persons (16 places).
The keel of lead tanker of RST05 project was laid down on 17.01.11 at "Don-Kassens Shipyard" Co. Ltd. It is supposed to put the vessel into operation in 2012.
