"Krasnoe Sormovo" launched lead tankers of New Armada type for Palmali group
"Krasnoe Sormovo" shipyard (Nikolay Zharkov is a general director) is included in group of companies "Marine and oil-and-gas projects" (MOP). On March, 22, 2008 the shipyard launched product and chemical lead tanker IMO2 of "New Armada" type "Kura river".
Product and chemical tankers IMO2 with full-circle rudder propellers and increased ecological class RS "ECO PROJECT" are being built for Palmali group (Mubariz Mansimov is a president of Palmali group).
Vessel's launching was timed to birthday of Mubariz Mansimov, president of Palmali group. He was 40 on March 22, 2008.
"Kura river" project (RST22) is designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB).
The vessel's project RST22 is the development of 005RST01 prj. tankers with deadweight of 6400 tons, known as "Armadas". They were designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau earlier for Palmali group and were built at ADA and SELAH shipyards in Tuzla (Turkey) in 2002-2006.
Ten Armada type tankers are successfully maintained on the river-sea and ocean transportations in Caspian, Black, Mediterranean, Baltic and North Seas, including trips around of Europe and to Irish Sea in winter. They transport crude oil, masout, diesel fuel, other petroleum products and vegetable oils.
Using full-circle rudder propellers as movement and manoeuvre facilities, using submersible pump, full absence of a framing in cargo tanks are characteristic features of RST22 and 005RST01 projects vessels. These vessels have no longitudinal bulkhead in CL.
Vessels satisfy dimensions of the Volga-Don canal and Volga-Baltic way. Overall RST22 prj. vessel length is of 139.95 m, breadth is of 16.6 m, depth is of 6.0 m.
Vessels belong to "Volga-Don Max" tankers' type.
New project tanker have increased marine function, increased deadweight in marine conditions and increased total cargo tanks capacity with keeping river possibilities in comparison with vessels of "Armada" type. Vessels satisfy all new international requirements for transportation of vegetable oils, including two-compartment unsinkability. Special requirements of the Russian and world petroleum companies, additional ecological limitations "ECO PROJECT" class were taken into consideration during designing.
Total capacity of six cargo tanks and two slop ones is of 8090 m³, deadweight is about 7000 tons when sea draught is of 4.60 m. Deadweight is about 4700 tons when river draught is of 3.60 m. Cruising speed is of 10.5 knots.
Two medium-speed diesels (main engine) of 1200 kWt each use heavy fuel oil with viscosity of IFO380.
Vessel's Russian Maritime Register of shipping class notation is of KM LU1 II A1, oil tanker, ECO PROJECT.
Vessel's keel (building number is 07007) was laid down on 26.04.07. She was launched on 22.03.08.
Vessel was named for Kura River.
In the series ten tankers are supposed to build, as well as in "Armada" series. May be the series will be continued.
