Keel of dry cargo vessel with deadweight about 3670 tons was laid down for "Blue Wave Shipping" holding company
On August 31, 2007 at "Xingang Shipyard" (Tianjin city, China) keel of multi-purpose dry cargo river-sea going motorship with deadweight in the river/sea of 3130/3670 tons (building number is of FA 00307-1) was laid down.
"Blue Wave Shipping" holding company (Otar Kosashvili is a chairman of board of directors) is the customer.
Anatoliy Yukhimenko (technical director of the "Blue Wave Shipping") controls the building of RSD08 prj. vessel.
Project RSD08 is designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB).
Vessel's building is carried out in accordance with normative document named "Building of internal waterways and river-sea gong vessels using elements of maintained vessels" (Guideline Р.003-2003). This document was issued by RRR under direction of Nikolay Efremov, the general director of RRR and doctor of economic sciences.
Designing and construction supervision is being carried out by Dono-Kubanskiy branch of RRR (Yuriy Sklyarenko is the head of branch).
Russian River Register class notation is of M-SP 3.5, which allows to make international voyages through Black, Mediterranean, Baltic and others Seas. It completely pays off traditional commercial geography of river-sea going vessel's operation, within boundaries of class restrictions.
RSD08 prj. vessel is assigned for transportation of general, bulk, timber, grain, scrap metal, 8'.5 and 9' ISO containers, dangerous goods of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8, 9 classes (including natural gas in tank-container) of IMDG Code and cargoes of category B of BC Code. The vessel is going to be operated in internal waterways of the European part of the Russian Federation, including Volga-Don canal and Volga-Baltic waterway and also in sea regions according to the vessel's class.
The vessel belongs due to MEB internal classification to the type of vessels, assigned for replacement of "Sormovskiy" / "Volga-Balt".
Vessel's overall length is of 107.6 m, length between perpendiculars is of 105.0 m, breadth is of 14.8 m, depth is of 5.0 m.
Deadweight is of 3670 tons when sea draught is of 3.89 m.
Deadweight is of 3130 tons with the draught of 3.60 m in the river.
Capacity of the 4 cargo holds is of 6190 m³.
All holds are box-shaped, smooth-wall, convenient for carrying out the freight works and placing a cargo without shifting. The cargo holds' sizes (l x b) are of 18.00?12.84 m (hold Nos. 1,2,3), 17.40 x 12.84 (hold No. 4) with the height of 7.7 m.
Hatch covers are "piggy back" type.
Crew consists of 14 persons (15 places).
Two main engines (medium speed) with capacity of 550 kW each provide cruising speed of 10.0 kn.
Variable-pitch propeller is with fixed nozzles.
Designed vessel hull' life term is of 15 years.
The ship steel of category RSD with a yield limit of 235 MPa was accepted for basic hull constructions. The steel with increased strength of category RSD32 with a yield limit of 315 MPa was used for upper part of continuous longitudinal hatches' coamings, upper deck plating and framing in the cargo zone area.
The double bottom is designed for distributed load intensity of 6.1 t/m² that allows to use a bucket grab.
Vessel's autonomy is of 15 day.
Keel of the first series' RSD08 prj. vessel (building number FA 00307-1) was laid down on 31.08.07.
