Overall results of Marine Engineering Bureau work in 2016
2016 was one of the most successful years in company's history. A huge number of projects of all kinds were realized.
Passenger cruise vessels, 22 MW diesel ice-breaker, rail-car-passenger ferries, multifunctional arctic rescue vessels, tug-firefighter, tankers, dry-cargo vessels, sea diving catamaran, combined cargo vessels are under construction (not only on "paper").
On December 5, 2016 in Baku in solemn atmosphere it was declared about creation of joint venture Caspian Marine Engineering Bureau. Creation documents of new design organization were signed from "Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping" CJSC by Chairman Rauf Valiyev and from Marine Engineering Bureau by General Director, Professor, Doctor of Technical Science Gennadiy Egorov.
In 2016 well-known series of river-sea product tankers, chemical tankers, dry-cargo and combined (dry-cargo / tanker) vessels of RST27 (Krasnoe Sormovo shipyard, Oka shipyard, Damen), RST25 (Astrakhan shipyard "Lotos"), RST54 (Oka shipyard), RSD49 (Neva shipyard, "Lotos") projects were being built.
11 such vessels were launched and accepted into operation totally in 2016:
• 4 RST27 tankers (40 vessels in the series, 35 of which were accepted into operation);
• 3 RST54 dry cargo/tankers;
• 2 RST25 tankers;
• 2 RSD49 dry-cargo vessels.
The vessels are worldwide known, only in this year 2 dry-cargo vessels "Zhibek Zholy" and "Atameken" of RSD49 prj. for Kazakhstan and 1 tanker "Ganje" of RST27 prj. for Azerbaijan were built (second will be accepted into operation in 2017). 2 tankers on the basis of RST27 prj. are being built by Damen in China.
On November 18, 2016 in Baku in the presence of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev solemn ceremony of accepting into operation of new tanker "Ganja" of RST27 prj. built by Krasnoe Sormovo shipyard for Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping company took place. On October 10, 2016 in Aktau (Kazakhstan) solemn ceremony of accepting into operation of new dry-cargo vessel "Zhibek Zholy" of RSD49 prj. built by Neva Shipyard.
However in near future vessels of that series will be replaced by new cargo vessels of "Volga-Don max" type -product / chemical tankers of RST27M prj. (Krasnoe Sormovo shipyard, Nizhny Novgorod) and RST12C prj. (Baku shipyard, Baku), multipurpose dry-cargo vessels of RSD59 prj. This year new concepts of RSD67+RDB67, RSD64+RDB64 river-sea integrated vessels of "Dnepro-max" class had been created (self-propelled dry-cargo vessel-pusher + pushing barge), with deadweight in river more than 10 000 tons.
On August 15, 2016 during State council presidium meeting under the chairmanship of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin solemn keel laying of PV300VD 310-places cruise passenger river-sea vessel for Moscow River Shipping Company took place. Vessel's keel was laid down at Astrakhan Lotos Shipyard and intended both for long-waited Caspian and classic Moscow-St. Petersburg voyages.
On August 19, 2016 solemn launching of head MPSV12 5,2 MW multifunctional shallow-draught Arctic salvage tugboat "Bakhtemir" took place at Neva shipyard (MPSV12 second vessel "Kalas" was launched on November 29, 2016). Four such new unique salvage tugboats are being built for RosMorRechFlot. MPSV12 deadweight is unprecedented for vessels with similar particulars (80 m length, 16,8 m breadth) and ARC5 Arctic ice class (1820 tons / 320 tons at draughts 4,50 m / 3,20 m at 30 days fuel, water and provision autonomy). On November 11, 2016 FBE "Marine Salvage Service of RosMorRechFlot" accepted for operation tugboat "Penay" of TG17 prj. with firefighting functions built on Oka Shipyard. At the same time on December 1, 2016 keel of lead multipurpose sea diving catamaran of SDS18 prj. was laid down.
On November 24, 2016 Vyborg shipyard launched head IBSV01 22 MW ice-breaker support vessel "Alexander Sannikov" with Icebreaker 8 class. Vessels purposes are: ice tankers' conveyance, assistance at mooring and loading operations of other vessels, rescue operations, towage operations, firefighting, oil spill operations. Vessel's concept design is made by Aker Arctic Technology, technical design is made by Marine Engineering Bureau.
Built at Moscow shipyard 96 meter high-comfortable river-sea cruise passenger vessel of PV09 prj. went on sea trials. The vessel is intended for cruise voyages through European inland waterways of Russia, including Volgo-Balt, Volgo-Don, Belomor-Baltiysk Canal, Volga river, Moscow River; also at lines between Moscow port, St.-Petersburg port and Belomorsk port through Belomor-Baltiysk Canal; with sailing to White Sea and to the region of Solovetskie islands, Gulf of Finland; Caspian, Azov and Black Seas.
On October 26, 2016 at Baku Shipyard building contract on building two train-car-passenger ferries of CNF18C project for Caspian sea lines was signed. CJSC "Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping" is the Customer. New open type CNF18C ferry is assigned for transportation of 56 railway wagons with 1520 mm track breadth and motor trucks (50 car trains), including ones with dangerous goods and passengers (estimation of 2 passengers for each car train). Ferryboat's construction foresees aft cargo handling scheme and is equipped with side ramp for loading/unloading vehicles from/to usual berths.
